intuitively banned music from your training sessions

I was elated to read in Way of the Physical Prep Coach that you intuitively banned music from your training sessions with athletes. I felt the same way but you're the first to discuss this that I've read. On the very rare occasion that my local gym had sound system issues and cut it off, I've had my best workouts ever. Smoother technique, better energy replenishment between sets, better focus....I'm not sure my clients appreciated it when I told them there'd be no music in my facility though!! Regards,

No music

We took it even further in certain sessions and banned talking too.
Students doing early morning sessions were required to do so in silence. The feedback was interesting, ranging from confusion to sublime. But in the end, even the confused ones took to it after getting used to not chattering.
It seems to be a habit to just talk and talk. About nothing. but if the concentration is to be 100%, you can't waste energy talking about nothing.
I am new here, this is my first post in fact. I have read some of Ian's stuff and am still reading. So I am not familiar with the KSI approach to this kind of thing. But my background has always been no unnecessary chatter in training, no music in training, concentrate on the breath, to the point where the breath is made audible.
All input is always graciously considered.
Cheers

great to have the great camerion quinn in our presence. we are humbled

yes, my writing don't always give the full scope. if you speak to any athletes who worked with me you would also hear many interesting stores about how they handled the no talk rule

those who spent 3 days with me a few weeks ago in park city experienced it first hand, going for up to 2 hours in slience and focus

and my highest level coaches have been given some special training on this very topic. information only released to the highest level of coaches in the program. i liken it to the culture of kung fu before bruce less - white/westerens/the unwashed masses don't need to know. they would not understand and would not value the message!

it was def a whole new experience! an interesting thing was how the feeling for how much time has passed was gone in all athletes, as nobody came close to guessing that it was actually 2 hours!
another reason to improve my financial situation and timefreedom, as i don't want to stretch/train with an alarm clock beside me that tells me when to stop....

yes, stretching - best results when time is not relevant

best stretching when you let time go lightly
